I'll Program You Out Of a Job!
That’s what one of my closest friends told me years ago when we were choosing careers.
We were both technically skilled, but he decided to be a software engineer, whereas I decided planes were cool and money was not.
Skip to 2020 and his prediction almost came true! Except instead of self-flying planes, we got Zoom, Teams, and many other online meeting and collaboration tools.
If you’re here because you’ve read BowTiedBull’s Substack or website, it should be obvious why those tools can and should effectively replace much of business travel.
What benefit is there really to dragging yourself to the airport at ungodly hours, shuffling through security, waiting ages at the gate, sitting several hours in the plane, jumping in a taxi, all to have a conversation with someone who would have been reachable on Zoom?
The events of 2020 just forced this efficiency leap on all of us. The gains were always there to be had.
Now it’s on you to build from there. Today’s most common software licensing model, known as Software as a Service (SaaS) comes with some major benefits for you as a business owner, creator, or service provider.
First and foremost is the ability to link these services to each other. Some come with this ability built in, but with others you will have to do some work.
The goal of this Substack is to guide you through that. To show you how to automate any part of your daily or weekly workflows.
The benefits should be clear. Anything that is repetitive will become a massive time sink as you scale. Your time should be spent on customers, not busywork.
I promise you that employing someone to take care of the legwork will be 10x more painful than dealing with software!
So before you hire a secretary, check out this Tweet for a very basic example of one of these workflows! If you’re a Jungle member, I’ll set it up for you for free if you book a time with me before July 15th.
If instead, you want to learn how to do this yourself, make sure you sign up now so you don’t miss the first issue.
In the meantime, tell your friends!
